GPYO Chamber Orchestra to Perform in Skillman
with Special Performance by Tenor Jon Darios

Princeton, New Jersey - The GPYO Chamber Orchestra will be performing its third concert of the 2003-2004 season at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Skillman, on Sunday, March 21st at 3:00 p.m. Musical theater and opera personality, Jon Darios will be performing with the orchestra.

Darios has been working throughout the New York metropolitan area as a singer and actor. He has been featured in such performances as Don Jose in Carmen, Don Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte, and Michael in I Do! I Do! He has appeared at the Papermill Playhouse, the PNC Bank/Garden State Arts Center, as well as other venues in Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York City. Darios' contagious, high energy, masterful performances in musical theater and operatic productions has afforded him enormous popularity. He is a regular featured soloist during holy days at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Skillman. Darios was the featured tenor in The Peace of Wild Things, a new orchestral work by composer Tim Keyes, St. Charles Borromeo's Music Director, recorded live in concert by API Records. The Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra is especially honored to accompany Darios in this chamber concert.

The Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra's chamber ensemble consists of 34 of the most talented young musicians in our area. The GPYO Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Fernando Raucci, will be performing Haydn's Symphony No. 45 in F Sharp and Wagner's Siegfried-Idyll. They will be accompanying Jon Darios who will be singing Ave Maria by Schubert, Panis Angelicus by Frank, and Una Fortiva by Donizetti.

Celebrating its 42nd year of offering professional orchestral training to talented students from middle school through college, the Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra is once again honored to be performing at St. Charles Borromeo Church. This chamber concert is the second of two special performances at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Skillman, New Jersey. Located at the corner of Burnt Hill Road and Skillman Road in Montgomery Township, this beautiful church offers spectacular acoustics for chamber music. The GPYO Chamber Orchestra will also be performing a concert on March 14th at Holy Angels Church, 1733 South Broad Street, in Hamilton, at 3:00 p.m. The 70-member Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra's Season Finale will take place at its Third Annual Princeton-Pettoranello Concert on May 15th at Richardson Auditorium, Princeton University at 8:00 p.m.

rinceton, New Jersey – The Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra has announced that they are now accepting college students, in addition to students entering 8th through 12th grades. This prestigious non-profit youth orchestra, is now in its 42nd year of offering exciting, challenging and unique educational training and performance opportunities. Entrance at all grade levels is by competitive audition.


The GPYO, under the direction of the accomplished Maestro Fernando Raucci, performs four major concerts each season. In addition, students benefit from collaborations with professional guest soloists, and opportunities to perform classical as well as contemporary music through an exciting, challenging literature. Symphony orchestra solo competitions and master classes are offered, as well as opportunities to perform on European tours.
